Most UX designers collaborate with the product teams to create the MVP or Minimal Viable Product which is considered as the shortest route for bringing the product into the market. MVP which is the product with minimal features which can be launched to the market quickly, get feedback and improvise. In the process, sometimes design takes a back seat and the focus shifts to getting the bare bone features which can be developed quickly. Lean UX process is usually incorporated into the product strategy. As UX designers it is important to create value in the design along with the Lean UX Principles so that the MVP fulfils the users' needs as well as satisfy the business requirements.
Some ways designers can bring in innovation in the MVP design:
- Understand the business goals for developing the product by collaborating with the product stakeholders.
- Focus on understanding the pressing needs of the user and solve the key user problems.
- Priortize the user experience and ease of use to increase the desirability of the product.
- Test the initial prototype with the end users to get an early feedback. This will help in validating the assumptions about the product.
This way the Minimal Viable Product can be made valuable and building trust among the end users at the same time bring in success for the MVP.
